星期三 [ 2010-1-13 11:20:01 | watches1013 ] Barnes & Noble to open Wednesday With expanded departments and some new features, Barnes & Noble Inc. bookstore officially opens Wednesday in its new, much larger location at Valley View Mail. But it will be open for business at a public Preview Night Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Part of the Preview Night sales will benefit the Three Rivers Waldorf School library. The new 30,000-square-foot store on the west side of the mail has much more merchandise than the old store at 4415 State Road 16, which opened in 1994 and closes at 2 p.m. Tuesday. It will offer nearly 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles. Unlike the old store, the new one will sell DVDs and compact discs. Customers can listen to samples of compact disc Japan Rolex Watch music, or watch DVD trailers, in that new department. "Every section is a little larger than it used to be" at the old store, said Sarah Deckert Scott, the store's community relations manager. That includes the children's area, which has two features the old store doesn't have - a children's porch where kids can play at a Thomas the Tank Engine train set, and a children's stage. Story times, which the old store has had, will be held at the stage. There's also a department with home and office supplies such as reading glasses, book carriers and artist supplies; an area with scrapbooking supplies, and an expanded selection of greeting cards. The new Barnes & Noble's cafe is larger, elevated and has more seating than the old one. But like the old one, it sells Starbucks coffee, The Cheesecake Factory cheesecake and other items. It will be open during Tuesday's Preview Night Party, Scott said. During that event, the store also will have free cake and coffee and free samples of cafe menu items. The Three Rivers Waldorf School will provide music, and faculty will host a bedtime story time at 8 p.m. Clifford the Big Red Dog will be on hand to meet his fans, and there will be a puppet show. Barry Byrne will play the harp Tuesday night and again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. MOVING TO THE MALL WHAT: Barnes & Noble Inc. will open its new bookstore Wednesday at Valley View Mall. The public is invited to a Preview Night-Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. EMPLOYEES: The new store will employ about 80 people, up from about 35 at the company's old La Crosse store, which will close at stainless steel Tungsten Rings 2 p.m. Tuesday.
